"Caribe" Steve
Vocals, guitars, bartender
"...If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane..."

A word about our founder:

One might consider him the epitome of a Jimmy Buffett fanatic and a leader of the true Parrothead lifestyle...not to mention the fact that he's the one who started this crazy project and tribute, "Caribe" Steve provides the rhythm, vocals and margaritas for the South Of Disorder Band.

Picking up his first guitar at age 9, Steve began playing in garage bands by the ripe old age of 12. Having a school boy heart and an inquisitive mind, Steve went off to college in a hot and tropical setting to make some sense of his insanity. Returning after his first of many degrees, Steve played in the Chicagoland Band Circuit, starting with "WIndfall" from 1976 - 79, the original hard rock'n roll band "Eclipse" from 1980 - 1982 and the country/rock band "Coyote" in 1983 and 1984. Around this time, the degrees (and money) were running low and Steve made an adult decision to join the rat race for several more years, putting his guitars and music away. Thankfully the stint in the rat race all ended a few years ago and Caribe came to his senses and his true calling (it also helped that he was relatively successful and could now return to the Jolly Mon days).

The Making of a Parrothead and JB Clone

Caribe's first experience with Bubba came in the late 70's, around the same time the Eagles invited Jimmy to front for them. Having attended the concert and listening to the music and seeing the crazy people associated with the man convinced Steve that there must be something to this tropical thing. So he started to travel extensively to tropical places (The Keys, the Caribbean, Cabo, and other wayward ports and particular harbours -- mostly ones with beautiful, scantly-clad women) as often as his schedule allowed (which is quite often). And of course, at each of these ports-o-call there was Jimmy, there was the Parrothead mentality and there was much rum and tequila, the blessed mixture of the tiki gods. Steve became immersed in both the Parrothead lifestyle and culture as well as the JB life, attending scores of JB concerts over the past 24 years.

After his enlightened vision of early retirement came, Steve did a stint has a charter boat fishing captain, a bartender and a "consultant", but ultimately chose to follow the true calling of the Macaw. An avid water and sun person, Steve is a blue water angler (he loves big water and big fish), a boater, a biker (he named his chopper
Savannah ) and a reader (his favorite author -- why, Mr. Buffett of course). He enjoys all aspects of the outdoors and is learning to fly (a water bird is his most recent goal). Mostly, Steve knows just about anything and everything regarding JB and the proper use of tequila and rum (he has perfected the ultimate Parrothead Margarita).

Steve is the managing partner of Hemingway's Port of Call Restaurant and South of Disorder Bar at N3270 County Highway H in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
