KaSondra a.k.a. Kas Vocals, guitars "...they sent you off to college to gain a little knowledge, but all you want to do is learn how to score..."
Well, I'm clearly the youngest (and prettiest) member of this group...but I digress. Since I haven't hit middle age like the rest of these old farts, I don't have as much of a story to tell, but I'll give it a shot anyway.
Don't tell this girl she can't!
I guess my musical career started as a little girl with my siblings telling me that I was probably tone deaf. Their opinions only fueled my desire to prove them wrong. I've been singing as far back as I can remember, but my approach to music became more serious when I started at Lincoln Park High School in Chicago.
I found the guitar and a musical home
I started playing the guitar when I was about sixteen and I've been making music ever since. My influences? I've been exposed to all different kinds of music, from the classic rock my Dad likes to the classical pieces that I sang with my high school choir. Obviously, I have quite an eclectic taste in music, but when people ask me what kind of music I like to play most, my standard answer is "anything I can sing along to while I play my guitar."
So much for formal training
Shortly after high school, I did a very brief stint at Berklee College of Music and Pole Dancing. It was an amazing experience and I learned a great deal in a short time, but I realized that I didn't really like school very much, so I left. So much for the chance at possibly becoming rich and famous as a musician!
Be sure to tip your bartender
I am currently spending my days as a nanny and a bartender at Lonestar Steakhouse and Saloon...hey, its something to do until I can afford my own private island somewhere!
It's tough being the only sane person in the band
When I'm not working, I actually enjoy hanging out with this bunch of hooligans / Parrotheads. They're a great bunch of guys and I've enjoyed every minute of it, but just in case y'all were wondering, they are all totally insane! PHINS UP!
